Theoretical: Durmusceylan's photograph taken of the young boy holding a goat is theoretical because the use of black and white along with the unknown expression of emotions of the boy allow the viewer to come to their own conclusion about the image.

Explanatory: Eadweard Muybridge's photograph taken of the cats sprinting is explanatory because it shows and explains how cat's legs much like other animal's legs, all leave the ground when running at the same time.

Ethically Evaluative: Tracy Derrick's photograph taken of herself is ethically evaluative because it documents and portrays her breast cancer battle to the viewer in order to give them a better understanding of the disease.

Descriptive: The photograph of myself is descriptive because it has no other purpose or meaning besides conveying my persona and personal features so my classmates can know what I look like. There is no other meaning.

Aesthetically Evaluative: My photograph of the flower is aesthetically evaluative because it shows the beauty in the flower and its stem, the meaning of the picture is for the viewer to recognize its beauty.

Interpretative: The image I took of an open field landscape is interpretative because it has no meaning, and no hidden meaning either. The purpose of the image is for the viewer to come up with their own meaning of the image.

Multimodal Presentation

Synopsis: For my presentation, I have chosen to interpret the work of Andrew Stark. He is a contributor for the black and white photography, and most of hist work consists of street photography in the streets of people doing their daily activities. Stark has photographed in many different places but focuses mostly on the street of his hometown of Sydney, Australia. One characteristic of his black and white street photography is that the message behind them is very clear. With the black and white style of his images, the message is very clear, as background colors and moods don't get in the way or blur the true meaning. The images I chose the review show his images from his classic street photography all the way to sports photography.

My New Perception of Photography: Andrew Starks work has helped to show me the direct side of photography. This has been a type of photography that I have never really had an interest in, until now. His work showed me that you don't need a bunch of color and different type of lighting, and more than one message to have an affective photo. At the begging of this class, I didn't really know that was possible. With his work it shows that the power of pure human expression is bold enough to capture the mood and meaning of an image. It showed me that photography can show images in many different ways.
